Among the Piedmontese countryside, inserted in a splendid Italian garden, the Relais I Castagnoni is a real glimpse of the authentic Monferrato: housed in a structure of 1742, once a religious convent, it is today the summer residence of the family who lives there from generations and destination of stays of relaxation, history, luxury and the rediscovery of the ancient traditions of the region.
The Relais dominates from the top of a hill of tufa meadows and vineyards that stretch out to the eye offering in every season panoramas of incomparable beauty. The house offers charming Bed & Breakfast accommodation, with guests staying in restored rooms with frescoed ceilings, period furniture and annexed sauna, turkish bath and whirlpool baths. A common room with a fireplace for breakfast and a reading room with fireplace also allow the guest moments of true relaxation and genuine hospitality, taking advantage of the availability and warmth of a family rooted in the territory with cosmopolitan experiences.
In the underlying cellar in tuff and brick and ceiling sometimes, where until a few years ago it was vinified in large wooden barrels, still today the owners produce limited quantities of Monferrato Dolcetto Doc wine.
Outside, the suggestive eighteenth-century garden that winds between hedges of ancient roses and myrtle with in the center the "Fontana dei putti" and the pool, offers moments immersed in the uncontaminated silence of nature.
Among the noteworthy activities, guests can choose between visits to the numerous cellars of Monferrato, walks or excursions on horseback or mountain-bike through the various scenic and naturalistic routes of the area, the visit to the Baroque palaces of the nearby town of Casale or go discovering the ancient houses of the villages of Rosignano.
