The La Taverna di Colloredo restaurant in Monte Albano boasts a unique location: orangery, greenhouses and halls of a 14th century castle, the place where Ippolito Nievo wrote Confessions of an Italian. Piero Zanini started his adventure there in 1979, transforming the old tavern into an elegant and refined environment, which over the years has achieved international fame.
La Taverna di Colloredo History
The La Taverna di Colloredo di Monte Albano restaurant is located in the village of Colloredo di Monte Albano, in the heart of central Friuli, in what was once the orangery of the medieval castle.
It has long been one of the food and wine landmarks in the province of Udine and in the whole of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It has the good fortune of being located in a truly magical place steeped in history.
The kitchen, which follows the changing of the seasons, aims to creatively reinterpret the aromas and flavors of the area; the wine list is really rich, like the local cellar, one of the richest in the region.
In summer you can also enjoy the beautiful and well-kept garden overlooking the valley and the surrounding hills which is well suited for ceremonies and banquets.
