Masseria Galatea is a farmhouse from the end of the 19th century, the economic and cultural center of Alessano and the surrounding area. During the Second World War it was a refuge for Polish soldiers who played a decisive role in the liberation of the South. In fact, in the town of Alessano, a Polish military school had arisen. In the following years, the farm was the scene of tobacco cultivation and processing.

Masseria Galatea is a farmhouse from the end of the 19th century, the economic and cultural center of Alessano and the surrounding area. During the Second World War it was a refuge for Polish soldiers who played a decisive role in the liberation of the South. In fact, in the town of Alessano, a Polish military school had arisen. In the following years, the farm was the scene of tobacco cultivation and processing.
After a careful restoration the farm now welcomes its guests in
an informal and family atmosphere, offering them services in harmony with nature and guiding them through stories and secrets to intensely spend their stay in Puglia.
As in all farms in Puglia, the interiors of Masseria Galatea also functioned, in the past, as stables for animals and agricultural shelters, functional for patient work in the fields, integrity and eco-sustainable techniques, our four double rooms they preserve the rural aspect of a masseria, with all the forms and elements belonging to the tradition of a sober and genuine land.
In a balanced and without excess, every double room incorporates all comforts: private bathroom with shower, air conditioning, TV, wi-fi, mini-fridge, set of bath towels and pool towels.
A large garden with swimming pool and relaxation area surrounded by characteristic dry-stone walls and monumental carparo blocks, becomes a reassuring place to lie on the beds and read a book, have a refreshment and fall in love with the intense Mediterranean colors of the South.
Inside the garden, among the centuries-old olive and fruit trees, there is a refined swimming pool for the exclusive use of our guests staying in the farm.
Following a path that runs along the farm, you can visit the didactic garden, the olive grove, the orchard and a suggestive rural landscape embellished with aromatic and spontaneous plants typical of the Mediterranean Macchia.
In the restaurant of Masseria Galatea Agriturismo you can enjoy traditional cuisine made with fresh ingredients and offered in a menu of the day that changes seasonally: homemade pasta with organic flour of our production; aromatic herbs and vegetables harvested every day from the vegetable garden; meat selected from local farms; naturally leavened bakery products; homemade desserts, all accompanied by a rich selection of wines from Salento and Puglia.
