Hotel Schloss Lerchenhof History
The "Lerchenhof" was built in 1848 as the site of the domain of Julius Emanuel Wodley for his upcoming marriage. Following the inheritance and marriage, the "Lerchenhof" came into the possession of the Steinwender-Hof, which borders directly on the "Lerchenhof".
In 1928, the entire estate of Steinwenderanwesens was divided between two sons. The "Lerchenhof" was taken over by Hans Steinwender, who, along with his wife Frieda, was driving the farm in difficult times, got a special contribution to horse breeding and also did many public relations activities.
In 1939, the "Lerchenhof" was listed as a historical monument and officially designated as "Schloss Lerchenhof" by the Office for the Protection of Historic Monuments. Of the five children, Hans Steinwender took over the farm in 1959 with his wife Gertrude and soon took advantage of the size of the complex to build an inn. Since 1996, Hans Steinwender and his wife Gerhild have owned the Lerchenhof Palace, which now has over 20 4-star quality comfort rooms and an appealing wellness area.
The tireless diligence and the high degree of hospitality have made the Lerchenhof a meeting place for generations. On the farm of the property the animals are fed biologically and fruit and vegetables are grown naturally without the use of fertilizers.
By turning the meat into the slaughterhouse, only the best quality is offered to the guests of the facility. Products that are not from the the farm come mainly from controlled producers in the immediate vicinity.
Today four generations of Steinwenders live on the castle of Lerchenhof and tradition is breathed in every room and suite, where warmth and comfort merge with historical environments where to spend holidays of total relax.
